From the Principal’s Desk…

On behalf of the Taieri College community I extend a warm welcome to all new students and their families.  At Taieri College, we unashamedly have high expectations of our students and enjoy challenging and encouraging them to reach their potential. Aiming for excellence and being the best we possibly can is important to us. We pride ourselves on a holistic approach to every child’s education and enjoy sharing their successes in academic, cultural and sporting endeavours. In order to shine in today’s society; young people need to be adaptive, creative and critical thinkers. These are key elements in our school culture.

We are proud of our co- educational tradition as we believe it instils rich social values that allow our young people to move on to the next phase of their lives with confidence and optimism. Celebrating diversity, understanding gender differences, and developing a sense of belonging are critical in producing connected and socially adjusted young people. Home - school partnership is another important component of our school success. We place great value in informing parents of a student’s progress and consider it to be fundamental in student achievement.

We want parent’s to be part of their child’s learning journey. Taieri College is a genuine community college. There has been education on this site since 1871 and we boast a proud history. I look forward to your family being part of an exciting future.

Taieri College has been successful in the transformation of students' lives since its beginning in 2004. This is evident in our excellent results and in our students' attitudes toward learning. Our 'Positive Behaviour for Learning - PB4L' initiative encourages us to put in place the Taieri College values of integrity, perseverance, equity, respect, determination, responsibility, diversity and honesty. These values that we have had instilled in us have helped form the individuals that we are today. During our time at Taieri College, we have learnt that to succeed we need to take advantage of the wide range of opportunities we are presented with as Taieri College provides every student with the potential to achieve personal excellence.
